It's very difficult to get your ideas to Hollywood if you're the average Joe or Jane. An agent wouldn't bother with you.

Certainly, my uni days involved some statements that I wouldn't make today.

One of the big changes in politics has been because families, individuals, have felt worried, insecure... Worried about the economy, worried about their jobs, worried about their kids' futures... Actually the disconnect between the public and media discourse and people's everyday concerns has become bigger not smaller.

If I was going to do anything, I'd be a producer, only because I'd like to have a say in what gets made and what doesn't.
